Data tracked by Kaiko shows that the combined volume of Hong Kong ETFs on the first day of trading reached $12.7 million, significantly lower than the $4.6 billion scored by U.S.-based spot bitcoin ETF products. Despite the slow first day of Hong Kong ETFs, Kaiko notes that overall APAC demand for crypto exposure remains robust, as filings with the U.S. SEC revealed that a Hong Kong-based asset manager is the largest holder of BlackRock’s IBIT fund.
